GRACE POTTER


Born in Waitsfield, VT, loveliness Potter grew up in a family tree with the intention of encouraged her artistic pursuits in areas from composition to acting, the latter of which she was studying by St. Lawrence University as drummer Matt Burr heard her singing by an open-mike night in 2002 and asked if she would form a belt with him. She declined, but as her high-school supporter and bass player Courtright Beard enrolled in their college, she reconsidered the challenge, and the three of them began to enter and go jazz-influenced songs, Potter furthermore taking duties on the Hammond B-3. Soon, guitarist Scott Tournet tied, and the bandmembers, calling themselves loveliness Potter & the Nocturnals -- thankfulness to their late-night practice lifestyle -- began to think sincerely in this area making composition their careers. When Burr graduated in 2003, they resolute to move back to Vermont to approximately ground with the intention of Potter's parents owned and dedicate themselves more fully to their craft, replacing Beard (who chose to stay by school) with Bryan Dondero in the process. Inside 2004 they self-released their introduction, Original Soul, receiving clear response and comparisons to artists like Norah Jones and ahead of schedule Bonnie Raitt.
